Frequently asked questions
Direct Primary Care is a modern healthcare model designed to give patients direct access to their doctor. For a simple monthly membership fee, you receive unlimited visits, longer appointment times, and direct communication with your physician via text, phone, or email. No copays, no deductibles, and no surprise bills, just personalized, accessible care when you need it.
Unlike traditional fee-for-service healthcare, DPC removes the middleman (insurance companies) from routine primary care, shifting the focus back to each patient’s unique needs. This allows for extended appointment times, transparent pricing, and a strong doctor-patient relationship without the hassle of copays, or unexpected medical bills.
No. We provide you with affordable, high-quality care without restrictions. However, you can still use insurance for services like ER visits, hospitalizations, specialist visits, radiology, and labs or prescriptions. We still recommend having insurance to cover services that fall outside of primary care. Many of our patients pair their DPC membership with a high-deductible insurance plan or a healthshare plan for added coverage and peace of mind.
Your membership includes unlimited in-office, virtual, and home visits within a 20-mile radius. Appointment times are extended to 30-60 minutes, giving you the time and attention you deserve. You have direct access to your doctor via text, email, phone, or video, allowing for seamless communication when you are near or far. Same or next-day visits for urgent concerns are always available. Routine preventive care, wellness visits, and chronic disease management are included. You also receive discounted lab tests, imaging, and pathology, along with wholesale pricing on medications.
You can still use insurance for medical expenses outside of Willow Creek Health, such as hospital stays, specialists, or prescriptions. However, one of the biggest benefits of Direct Primary Care (DPC) is that it helps you rely on insurance less by optimizing your health as much as possible. With unlimited visits, longer appointment times and direct access to your doctor, you’re often able to catch issues early—before they become bigger problems.
While we still recommend having insurance or a healthshare plan for major medical needs, many of our patients find they use their insurance far less and save money overall by pairing DPC with a high-deductible or healthshare plan.
DPC is ideal for individuals, families, and businesses looking for accessible, high-quality primary care. It’s especially beneficial for those who want a strong, ongoing relationship with their doctor, prefer predictable and transparent healthcare costs, have high-deductible insurance plans, healthshare plans, or no insurance at all, and value convenience, longer appointments, and direct physician access.
